A Lifetime of Exceptional
Craftsmanship

JOHN LANDIS CABINETWORKS was founded with John as the only designer and builder. Now, more than fifteen years later, John remains the designer and, though the company has grown to include many talented craftsmen and finishers, he has his hands on almost every piece.

Trained as an Architect at the University of Virginia, John soon became dissatisfied with the “hands-off” nature of the profession and, instead, turned his attention to furniture building, In 1997, after serving a one-year apprenticeship in fine furniture building and two years as a Journeyman, John opened John Landis Cabinetworks.

While much of the company’s success can be attributed to hard work, long hours and an exceptional product, the continued growth of the business has been helped by the hands of all of our talented craftsmen.

Although the business has experienced rapid growth, each of our pieces is still made by individual craftsmen, from lumber selection to finishing, ensuring the highest quality available.

Each order we take is built specifically for that client. We keep no back stock or inventory. This ensures that each piece is constructed to your needs and with continuity in wood tone and characteristics.

Although the majority of our work is custom designed, many of our clients order directly from our lines of furniture. We also frequently create additional custom pieces, such as desks and cabinets, based upon the design elements of a particular line.
